Death of a fond childhood memory...

When I was younger, I used to watch Cardcaptor Sakura with my sister. It was one of our Saturday morning cartoons, along with Pokemon and... well, I can't remember, but anyway... I got the brilliant idea the other day to read the manga. Since I loved the show so much, it would make sense that the manga would be all lovely and nostalgic and whatnot.

It was...

... until the teacher proposed to the fourth grader...

After reading Silas Marner, I've become one of those special individuals that hold the firm belief that no matter how bad, boring, or weird a story begins, it can always get better. Well, I've been wrong before... and this time was no exception. CLAMP is so weird!

Anyway, after finishing Cardcaptor Sakura, I began looking for something to get that happy-go-lucky ending out of my brain and came upon an anime called "Eden of the East." I am NEVER one that goes around looking for things to watch, but as I searched through one of my favorite and probably illegal anime sites, this one came up as one of the most popular. I thought to myself, "Let's see what everyone's watching."

Thankfully, it was GOOD. It was great! I'm somewhat afraid to give my little paragraph of what it's about, because if I do, it'll turn into a five paragraph essay of what HAPPENS. So instead, I shall copy and paste from wikipedia...

"On November 22 2010, ten missiles strike against uninhabited areas of Japan, claiming no victims. This apparent terrorist act is referred to as "Careless Monday" and disregarded by most people. The series begins three months later, with a young Japanese woman named Saki Morimi visiting Washington D.C. as part of her graduation trip. When she gets into trouble, a mysterious Japanese man, who introduces himself as Akira Takizawa, helps her through it. The man appears to have no memory and is completely naked, carrying only a gun and a cell phone charged with 8.2 billion yen in digital money. The cell phone has the phrase, noblesse oblige ("nobility obligates" or "noble's obligation" in English), printed on it. While they are coming back to Japan," they learn that a new missile attack has taken place in their country."

So... Watch it!

That's all I've got. Adios.
